# Cormorant Advisory Group > We work in the gap between the data a business already has and the questions it's been able to ask. That gap holds two things: work nobody should be doing by hand, and answers no report was built to give. Cormorant Advisory Group puts AI to work across the systems a company already has. The problem is two questions nobody has had a reason to ask. The first is whether a person needs to be doing a given piece of work at all; for thirty years the answer was yes, so nobody asked, and the retyping and chasing and month-end rebuilding became the way things are. The second is what a company would want to know if it could ask anything; nobody asked that either, because you could only get the answers somebody had already built a report for. Cormorant works on both. It puts AI above the systems rather than between them, so it can reach into each one for the few records a given question needs, without moving data anywhere. The repeated work stops needing a person, and questions that cross several kinds of records and several years of history become answerable. This holds whether or not a company's systems are already integrated, and whether or not everything already lives in one platform: a business running everything on a single vendor's software can still only get the reports that vendor decided to build. Who they serve: home services operators (pest control, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, landscaping; 30 to 150 employees, multi-location) and manufacturers and distributors serving the trades. Center of gravity is $20M to $100M in revenue. Find the Asymmetric Opportunity First](https://www.cormorantadvisory.com/blog/where-to-start-with-ai-asymmetric-opportunity): When companies ask where to start with AI, I'm always looking for the same thing: the asymmetric opportunity. High impact, low friction. That combination is rarer than you'd think — but when you find it, you've found your first move. - [Why Most AI Pilots Fail in B2B Companies (And What to Do Instead)](https://www.cormorantadvisory.com/blog/why-most-ai-pilots-fail-in-b2b): Most B2B companies start their AI journey backwards — picking a tool first and then searching for a use case. Here's why that approach fails and what actually works. ## Optional - [Ed Gandia on LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/in/edgandia/): Full work history and additional content.
